Project: Developing a data system to inform real-time public health action among female sex workers in Zimbabwe

What were you doing before you joined the MRC DTP scheme?

I worked in the international development sector, mainly in HIV programming, monitoring and evaluation. Most recently I worked for the Malaria Consortium, also in a programme monitoring and evaluation role.

Why did you choose your primary institution (LSHTM or SGUL)?

I had done a Masters in Epidemiology at LSHTM a couple of years before and really liked the institution. I also wanted to work with my supervisor who was based at LSHTM.

What do you enjoy most about your day-to-day work and the people you work with?

I work with a wonderful team at CeSHHAR Zimbabwe who deliver the programme through which most of the data for my PhD is collected.

What do you value most about the MRC DTP studentship?

The focus on training and being part of a close-knit cohort of students.

What additional training have you attended with MRC DTP money?

I have done additional training in longitudinal data analysis.
